TITLE: Technomancer COUNTRY: Canada WEBPAGE: http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/sander/108 RENDERER USED: PovRay 3.02 TOOLS USED: Moray 3, sPatch 1.5, Paint Shop Pro RENDER TIME: 2hr. 42min HARDWARE USED: P90 w 40Meg of RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Using arcane magech, the Technomancer conjures forth the world which has haunted his electronic dreams. The mysterious planet and its satellite coalesce into solid form above his mystech scrying bowl. He hopes to discern why his meditations have been consumed with images of the alien planet and its inhabitants. So consumed has he been that he created an appendage for himself which mimicked that of the dominant species... DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: sPatch was used to make: the majority of the robot's head, the claw fingers, the "android" hand (based on Anto's model), the shoulder "wings", and the blue bowl. The red ornates on the cross beam are heightfields. The lighting between the two rods is a differenced cone with a "lightning" texture, inside a haloed sphere. The Red, Green, and White sloted "cards" in the bottom left corner, and on his left arm are translational sweeps with a some cylinders and cubes. The rest are all various POVray primitives and CSGs. Most of the textures are image maps, mostly from the web, though many have been modified in some fashion. The "tattoos" I made myself, and include my signature - the Red/Green styilized SL. I haven't included the source file only because of the many many image maps - there are over 4 meg worth of image files associated with this scene. Also I modeled the scene in Moray and the POV export resulted in over 30 inc files. If anyone is really interested I can send them the mdl or pov/inc files. I would also likey to thank Greg Sacrey for his many comments and inputs into the final picture. It is certainly much better than if I had been left to my own devices. One final triva note, the "head" in the btm right corner is the original head I was to use - until I saw a picture by Micheal Whelan...
