-- shmux NEWS

Version 1.0b7 significantly changed the way signals and timeouts and handled.
In particular:

o It is no longer possible to put a running shmux in the background
o signals are sent to all of a child's descendants, not just the child itself
o shmux waits for all of the children's descendants to terminate

Version 0.9a introduced the following usage changes:

o The old -q option is now -Q
o Old behaviour of -o option can be obtained with -qqo

-- shmux dependencies

shmux will make use of the following programs if they are available on the
system (and found in the PATH). They are not required but allow using
certain optional features of shmux. See the man page for details.

+ fping: http://www.fping.com/
+ ssh: http://www.openssh.org/, ...

Also, if you want Perl Compatible Regular Expression support, you'll need
the PCRE library:

+ pcre: http://www.pcre.org/

Although this package uses autoconf, there is no real attempt to make sure
it works on older UNIX systems as it relies on a number of somewhat modern
system calls.

For bug reports, create an issue at https://github.com/shmux/shmux/issues,
or send an email to `shmux-bugs@taranis.org'. A bug report is an adequate
description of the environment (versions of this package, the OS, fping and
ssh) and of the problem: your input, what you expected, what you got, and
why you believe it to be wrong. Diffs are welcome, but they only describe
a solution, from which the problem might be difficult to infer.

Your feedback will help to make a better and more portable package.
Consider documentation errors as bugs, and report them as such. If you
develop anything pertaining to `shmux' or have suggestions, share them
by writing to `shmux@taranis.org'.
